Zoé

Zoé is the construction of a space in which a small community of bodies is brought back to the zero degree of life. A space for ‘reflection’ on the body and on existence that in its nakedness is offered to the gaze, human, animal, depersonalized, headless. In this work the bodies become space, architecture and landscape in constant transformation. We observe a community that questions itself while acting and supporting itself in the search for essential gestures by tracing its path in a surreal island. The slow and shared time allows the gaze to grasp the details of the gesture, the breath of the bodies and his own diffusion in space without ever losing the perception of a constantly evolving unicum. The choreography is a writing for bodies and on bodies which in this case becomes a declination of the forms and meanings of their naked life. The collective memory and today’s awareness are called to interpret its signs. Questions of a political, social and cultural nature emerge closely linked to the theme of the contemporary body, to which the process does not have the task of responding but rather of make them emerge to touch and upset. Zoé is a work born within the ‘Genealogia’ project. The process consists in building an alphabet of signs that can become a choreographic language. A research with the features of and installation, as can be seen also in the previous works of Luna Cenere, and the relational character of a community, a group that becomes expression and place, landscape in transformation and migration. Continuing in her research on the body that lies in the condition of nakedness, Luna brings out its metaphysical, animal and social potential.
